A Few Things to Know

• School doors open at 7:15 AM for breakfast and student arrival.
• Instruction begins promptly at 8:00 AM. Students should arrive before 8:00 AM to avoid missing valuable instructional time.
• Students attend five instructional blocks each day, with core subjects meeting in extended blocks to provide more time for hands-on learning, intervention, and enrichment.
• Lunch times vary by grade level to maximize instructional time and provide a smooth cafeteria schedule.
• Dismissal is at 4:00 PM.

Why do we use longer class periods?
RYSS uses an extended block schedule that allows students to participate in collaborative learning, STEM projects, laboratory activities, intervention, and personalized instruction—all while reducing the number of class transitions throughout the day.
